Directory of web 2.0 language resources

September 5th, 2008

After researching available resources for my TechCrunch UK article, it has become clear that what we need is a language specific directory of resources for learners using the web as a tool. A site tour is still available via jogtheweb here.

We have now contacted the owners of various sites to see if they would like to contribute to this resource by keeping us up to date with languages and user numbers. We will be adding an iPhone icon style page linking through to third party resources from the learnit widget. Resources will only be shown if they are relevant to a particular language.

So, for example

babbel

Babbel would show for users registered to learn English, Spanish, French, German or Italian.

We have made contact with many language sites, and requested info and an icon, and will be able to build the directory soon.  Please let us know if you would like to add other sites to the directory, likewise, if you are the marketing contact at any language related site and our email to you has failed to reach you, please get in touch.
