A few weeks ago I was asked about a case study about Learnit lists for a marketing text book which goes to press in April.

At the time I thought, we don’t HAVE a marketing strategy, how am I going to start to explain Web 2.0 strategies.  Web 2.0 just like the grand traditions it follows, starts with marketing.   Well… everything from the 30th January 2008 has been a massive learning curve, but I am prepared to share what I discovered… what took us from 4 users to 7004, with 100,000 pageviews daily… the marketing secrets used by all Web 2.0 success stories… etc etc in said text book.

Ever wondered why all those e-books selling on Ebay have web pages written in a slightly odd style… a style nobody would ever dream of using in real life? Well, that’s key words. What authors are doing is maximising the number of key words (which their potential customers are using in search engines) in their text.  This is exactly what is going on on this page: www.everydayenglish.cz (though admittedly, a slightly classier version, written by yours truly).
